A RESOLUTION GRANTING AUTHORIZATION FOR THE PROPSED BUDGET TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE
CITY SECRETARY NO LATER THAN AUGUST 15, 2017.
WHEREAS, the receipt of the certified tax rolls has been delayed due to a greater number of
appeals with the Erath County Appraisal District Appraisal Review Board; and
WHEREAS, the City of Stephenville Charter Article VIII. The Budget, Section 2 Preparation,
Submission; Content of Budget requires that "A budget shall be submitted to the council by the finance
department at least sixty(60) days prior to the beginning of each budget year; and
WHERAS, the State of Texas Local Government Code, Title 4 Finances, Subtitle A Municipal
Finances, Chapter 102 Municipal Budget,Section 102.005(a) Proposed Budget Filed with Municipal Clerk;
Public Inspection. requires that"The budget officer shall file the proposed budget with the municipal clerk
before the 30th day before the date the governing body of the municipality makes its tax levy for the fiscal
year."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Stephenville authorizes
the finance department to submit the 2017-2018 Fiscal Year Proposed Budget for review no later than
August 15, 2017, as is allowed by the laws of the State of Texas.
APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Stephenville held on this 1' day of
August, 2017.
