I The City Council met in a called meeting on the above date with Mayor Cook presiding and the following Councilman present: Hubert Darby, Mrs. Fred McCleskey, E. Lee Orbison, Charles Riggins, Bill Christian, W. H. Stem, and Mrs. Doyle White. Mayor Cook reported that there was one bid received after 5:00 P. M. due to a misunderstanding in the deadline for submitting bids. It was moved by Councilman Swain, seconded by Councilman Christian to accept the bid as a valid bid. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Homer Hunter read the bids as follows: Layne Texas Company Test Holes and Water Supply Wells: 790250.00 Well Pumps: 811,280.00 Texas Water tdells, Inc: Test Holes and Water Supply Wells x$74,033.00 Well Pumps 14,354.00 Pierce Pump Company Well Pumps $13,323.96 Brigs Weaver Machinery Co. well Pumps $ 8,990.00 Sub- Surface Construction Co. - Pipeline $185,970.00 Steed Construction Co. Pipeline X180,668.50 Elm -Fork Construction Co. i Pipeline $212,451.50 Drake Company, Inc. ipe ine $248,451.10 `s The Council referred the bids for well, pumps, study and recommendations. and pipeline to the engineers for The engineers retired to another room to study supply wells. the bids on test holes and water t Councilman Orbison brought up for discussion the need to extend to Dale Avenue. It was moved by Councilman Stem, seconded by Councilman Darby to accept the bid of Texas Water Wells for test holes and water supply wells. Motion carried.
