The City Council met in called session on this date with Mayor Cook presiding
and the following councilmen present: Hubert Darby, Mrs. Fred McCleskey, E. Lee
Orbison, Chas. Higgins, W. H. Stem and Mrs. Doyle White.
Mayor Cook explained the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the contract
with Wm. Guyton. It has been found that the plans and specifications prepared by
Mr. Guyton are very elaborate and the wells would be very expensive.
The Council has contacted another engineering firm who has agreed to engineer
welliwhich will fit the needs of the City and such wells would cost considerably
Tess. .
The decision needed at this time is whether to contact Wm. Guyton and ask
that they agree to cancel their contract. If the contract is cancelled, then
the City could save a large sum by hiring the other engineering firm.
It was moved by Councilman Stem, seconded
City Secretary Cates make a trip to Austin and
Mr. Guyton cancelled. Motion carried.
Upon motion and second the Council stood
call.
