The City Council met in called meeting oh-- he'above date with Mayor Evans presiding and the following councilmen present: I. D. Reynolds, Hubert Dgrby, Mark Geeslin, E. Lee Orbison, Raymond Anderson, Roy Swain, Harlon Huey and W. H. Stem. The Mayor reported the purpose of this meeting was to hear a report of W. M. Guyton Associates on the underground water survey. Mr. Guyton explained in detail the report on the underground water survey. It was pointed out that there is sufficient water southeast of the City. It was recommended that a well not be located closer than 3 miles of the present airport well, and if a well field- is: .aeeat6dr:'in that area each well be approximately 1 mile apart. Mr.Guyton stated that his company could not furnish any cost figures of securing water from a proposed well field. Mr. Guyton also stated this is definitely an economic problem and recommended a cost survey be made of both an underground and surface supply of water. The Council agreed to place these reports with the Water Resources Committee for study and report back to the Council. There being no' other business at this time, the Council stood a journe subject to the Mayor's call. Mayor. ;ITY ecretary. L z'7 ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF AUTOMOBILES, TRUCKS OR ANY TYPE OF VEHICLES ON THE NORTH SIDE OF TARLETON STREET FROM THE INTERSECTION OF SAID -- TARLETON STREET AND NORTH HEMMAP AVENUE TO THE INTERSECTION OF SAID TAR - LETON STREET WITH NORTH OLLIE AVENUE, PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLEs Section One It shall be_ unlawful for, any person to park any automobfle,_truck or uany vehicle on the North side of Tarleton Street in the City of Stephenville from the iniersection,oY said Tarleton_Street with North_ffei,Rtcap Avenue to the intersection of Tarleton Street with North 011ie Avenue and parking of an automobile, truck or other vehicle._thereon is hereby prohibited. WHEREAS, Section 8 of Article 827a, Vernon's Penal Code of the State of Texas provides that whenever the governing body of the City shall determine upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investi- gation that any prima facie speed therein set forth is greater or less than is reasonable or safe under the conditions found to exist at any intersection or other place or upon any part of a street or highway, with the City taking into ccnsideration the width and condition of the pavement and other circumstances on such portion of said street or high- way, as well as the usual traffic thereon, said govern body may deter- mine and declare a reasonable and safe prima facie speed limit thereat or thereon by the passage of an ordinance, which shall be effective when appropriate signs giving notice thereof are erected at such intersection or other place or part of the street or highway, now therefore, BE IT "ORDAMED by the City Council of the City of Stq*an*Q10 _. Texas: Section 1. Upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation heretofore made as authorized by the provisions of Section 8 of Article 827a, Vernon's Texas Penal Code, the following prima facie speed limits hereafter indicated for vehicles are hereby determined and declared to be reasonable and safe; and such speed limits are hereby fixed at the rate of speed indicated for vihicles traveling upon the named streets and highways, or parts thereof, described as follow: Control 250-3 & 4 ii' *S. ghway 281 tephonv ll $ 'fps (a) From Station 2237 +92.5 (North City Limits of Stephenville on Us S.
