January 12, 1961.
The City Council met in called session on this date with Mayor Evans presiding
and the following aldermen present: Virgil Dickerson, I. D. Reynolds, Chas. Riggins,
Burl Lawrence, Albert Graves, Raymond Anderson and J. P. Hedrick.
Alderman Lawrence reported some of the local organizations have been wanting t6
borrow, and move from the building, the piano at the Recreation Hall. Alderman Law-
rence stated this moving around of the piano would damage it and asked that it be
placed on record for the piano not be be moved from the Recreation Hall. It was
pointed out that this is already on record in the Minutes of the City Council.
Mr. Allan Tucker, of Rauscher- Pierce & Co., appeared before the Council to pre-
sent a resolution approving final estimate of C. E. Gunter, and of Briggs- Weaver
Machinery Company, on construction of Water Works Improvements.
It was moved by Alderman Riggins, seconded by Alderman Dickerson, to pass the
above mentioned resolution. Motion carried unanimously : -( =said resolution being attached
to and becoming a part of these minutes).
No other business at this time, the Council stood ad' u ed subje to the Mayor's
