August 20, 1965.
The City Council met in a called meeting with Mayor Arthur presiding and the
following councilmen present: Robert Herrin, Mrs. Doyle white, Roy, Swaim, Chas. Riggins,
Bill Christian and Telefus B. Cawyer.
The Mayor reported the purpose of this meeting is to consider a report of the Zoning
Commission &-Adjustment Board. The report is the result of a request for rezoning of
property located in Blocks 140 and 145, City Addition. The request for changing zoning
from r -1 to R -2.
Councilman Christian disqualified himself and left the Council room.
The report of the Zoning Commission & Adjustment Board stated that a public hearing
had been held with the result that considerable objection to the change of zoning had
been made through personal testimony and a signed petition with some 23 signers.
After discussion, the Board voted unanimously to recommend to the Council that

zoning be changed from R -1 to R -2.
The Mayor asked that each member of the Council. carefully consider the report
of the Zoning Commission & Adjustment Board and vote #heir respective feeling at
the proper time.
It was moved by Councilman Swaim, seconded by Cojncilman Herrin, to accept the
recommenation of the Zoning Commission & Adjustment Board, and that the proper notice
be run in the local paper for a public hektiing to be held Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 7:00
otclock P. M. at the City Hall. Motion carried unanimously.
Upon motion and second the Council stood adjourned subject to the Mayor's call.
