HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-12-09 - Special City Council0 R Stephenville, Texas December 9, 1968 The City Council met in a called meeting on the above date with Mayor Arthur presiding and the following council members present: Robert Herrin, Don Metsgar, Garlan Loudermilk, Charles Riggins, W. M. Irwin, Telefus Cawyer, Raymond Anderson, and Mrs. Fred McCleskey. Mr. Lindsey, Administrative to the Governor's Committeey.on the aging, appeared before the council stating that this agency distributes the Federal Funds avail- able for helping with the program for the ageing. This is a 3 year program, the committee will furnish 75% of the cost of the first year, 60% the second year and 50% the third year. It was pointed out that anything the city furnishes, such as buildings, utilities etc. may be counted on the part that the city would furnish. It was moved by Councilwoman McCleskey, seconded by Councilman Irwin, that the c-ity make application for grant money to assist in the program for the age g;. Motion carried unanimously. It was moved by Councilman Irwin, seconded by Councilwoman McCleskey, to accept the bid of Stephenville Bank and Trust Company as depository for city funds for the ensuing year. Motion carried by vote of 7 for and 1 abstain. Mr. David Dennison, planner for the city appeared before the council. Also present were the following members of the city planning commission: Dr. W. 0. Trogdon, Dr. J. B. Morton, John Skipper, Marion Porter, Barbara Terrell, Mrs. Ken Dorris, Mrs. J. B. Whitacre and Bill Riddick. Mr. Dennison stated that the master plan would cover the following items: Base map and Base study General analysis and population study ,Land use and future land use. Existing and future thoroughfares Parks, schools and playgrounds. Capital improvements plan and budget \Review of subdivision and zoning ordinances. It was recomended that the Zoning Commission meet with the planner and City .Planning Commission. S There being no other business at this time the Council stood adjourned, subject to the Mayor's call. ,
