HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-07-19 - Special City CouncilStephenville, Texas July 19, 1968 The City Council met in a called meeting on the above date with Mayor Arthur presiding and the following council members present: Robert Herrin, Don Metsgar Telefus Cawyer, Raymond Anderson, and Mrs. Fred McCleskey,Garland Loudermilk, Charles Riggins, and W. M. Irwin. Councilman I Councilman Irwin reported that the committee recommends that the first block of Sadie street be abandonded as a street and closed. It was moved by Councilman Irwin, seconded by Councilman Loudermilk, to adopt an ordinance declaring all of West Sadie street which runs from the east line of North Race Ave. to the west line of North Donna Ave. in the City of Stephenville in Erath County, Texas to have been abandonded as a street, ordering same vacated and closed and authorizing the advertisement of said land for sale in accordance with proper proceedure for sale of city land. Motion carried unanimously. It was moved by Councilman Irwin, seconded by Councilman Loudermilk, to advertise for bids for the first block of West Sadie St.. Motion carried unanimously. It was reported that part of the Airport Road and the runway has been resurfaced. This was done by a contractor at a very reasonable cost. There being no other business at this time the unci stood adjourned subject to the Mayor's call. i ATTEST: G' Secretary Stephenville, Texas July 22, 1968 The City Council met in a called meeting on the aboce date with Mayor Arthur presiding and the following council members present; Don Metsgar, Garland Loudermilk, Charles Riggins, W. M. Irwin, Telefus Cawyer, Raymond Anderson, And Mrs. Fred McCleskey.__ Mr. George Fagan of Homer Hunter Associates, appeared before the council and read in full a proposed sub - division ordinance. The ordinance was discussed and some portions were deleted, and additional provisions were added. The council asked Mr. Fagan to prepare the ordinance as corrected and return same to City Attorney in order that it may be considered at the next regular meeting of the City Council. The council were assured by Mr. Fagan that Williams and Young will commence the resurfacing work on the square next week.
