HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-05-17 - Special City Council110 Stephenville, Texas May 17, 1968 The City Council met in a called meeting on the abode date with Mayor Arthur presiding and the following council-members present: Robert Herrin, Don Metsgar, Charles Riggins, W. M. Irwin, Telefus Cawyyer, and Mrs. Fred McCleskey. Mr. Moore and Mr. Montgomery appeared before the Council and presented a plot for a proposed subdivision known as Tanglewood Addition. Also presented a copy of restrictions that will be on building the subdivision, and asked that the Council approve the plot. The Council discussed this at length, and some suggested t hat approval be delayed until the engineering firm that is working on the comprehensive °development plan is consulted. It was moved by Councilman Herrin and seconded by Councilman Cawyer that the plot and restrictions of the Tanglewood Addition be accepted as presented. The motion carried bya vote of four for and two against. Mr. Harlan Huey appeared before the Council and presented a olot for sub- division of land west of Dale Avenue and south of loop 195. The subdivision to be known as West Gate Addition. The Council .asked that Mr. Huey draw up restrictions on the proposed subdivision and pres ^nt to the Council at a later date. Councilman Herrin recommended that Policeman Terry McCoy be promoted and given an increase in salary to `.400 per month. The Council discussed this but no action was taken. Councilman Herrin also reported that two of the policeman are members of the National Guard and must go for two weeks training, but they have not worked long enough to be elgible for two weeks vacation time. It was moved by Councilman Irwin and seconded by Councilman NIetsgar that all policeman be allowed two weeks vacation time. The motion carried unanimously. Councilwc, ran Mc^C,_l_teiskey reported that the committee has not completed their work on proposal to soj city owned land east of the Bosaue and south of East Washington Street. Councilman Cawyer reported a complaint has been received from Reecie Jones that flood water gets into his building. No action was taken. There being no other business at this time, to the Mayor's call. the Council stood adjourned subject
