M±NUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE
CITY OF STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS, HELD ON
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 1981 - 10:30 A.M.
An emergency meeting of the City Council of the City of Stephenville,
Texas was called to order by the Mayor with the following members present:
Mayor Joe F. Cummings
Councilman G. A. Swindle
Councilman W. M. Irwin
Councilman Charles Riggins
Councilman Raymond Anderson
Councilman E. W. Ferguson
Councilman Larry Hammett
Councilman David Clayton
and with the following members absent: Councilman Wm. G. Brede.
City Administrator Kurt Ackermann and City Secretary Joyce Pemberton
were also present.
Mayor Cummings called the Council into executive session for the
purpose of discussing personnel as provided in Article 6252-17, V.T.C.S.,
Section 2g.regarding the Open Meetings Law.
Mayor Cummings reconvened the Council in open session.
Councilman Swindle moved that the job of Acting Police Chief be
offered to Douglas L. Conner for six (6) month period and the salary
to be on Pay -Grade #25, Step B ($1903.00/mo.) of Chief of Police.
Councilman Irwin made the second. The motion carried by the following
vote:
AYES: All members present.
NOES: None
Councilman Riggins moved that the following Resolution of Respect
be adopted and spread upon the minutes of this meeting and a copy
presented to family of Chief Watkins. Councilman Anderson made the
second. The motion carried by the following vote!
AYES; All members present.
NOES: None
There being no other business, the meeting adjourned.
