OF THE
CITY OF STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS, HELD ON
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 1982 - 2:30 P.M.
A special session of the City Council of the City of Stephenville,
Texas, was called to order by the Mayor with the following members present:
Mayor Joe F. Cummings
Councilman G. A. Swindle
Councilman John E. Pollan
Councilman Charles Riggins
Councilman Ray Reynolds
Councilman David Clayton
Councilman Raymond Anderson
and with the following members absent: William G. Brede and E. W.
Ferguson.
City Administrator Kurt J. Ackermann. and City Secretary Joyce
Pemberton were also present.
Mayor Cummings called the Council into Executive Session for the
purpose of interviewing candidates for the positon of Fire Chief.
The Council reconvened in Open Session to take the following
action::
Councilman Clayton moved that Jerry Williams be offered the job
of Fire Chief at an annual salary of $25,000.00 plus a vehicle for
which provisons would be identified at a later date and within the
limitations of the city budget. Councilman Swindle seconded the motion.
The motion carried by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Swindle, Clayton, Anderson, Riggins, and Mayor
Joe Cummings,
NOES; None
(Councilmen Pollan and Reynolds had to leave earlier).
.Councilman Swindle moved that a letter of appreciation be sent'.to
t.he.two unsuccessful candidates along with a check for $140.00 to re-
imburse them for travel expense incurred coming for the interview.
Councilman Clayton seconded the motion. The motion carried by the
following vote:
AYES; All members present voted aye.
NOES: None
