OF THE
CITY OF STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS, HELD ON
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 11, 1984 - 11:30 A.M.
An emergency meeting of the City Council of the City of
Stephenville, Texas, was called to order by the Mayor with the
following members present:
Mayor Joe F. Cummings Charles Riggins
Councilmen: G. A. Swindle William G. Brede
Ray Reynolds Floyd Gordon
and with the following members absent: Councilmen John Pollan,
David Clayton, and James L. McSwain.
City Administrator Kurt Ackermann and City Secretary Joyce
Pemberton were present.
Mayor Cummings advised the Council that mayoral candidate
John Pollan had filed application for a recount of ballots cast
in the mayor's race in the City Officer's Election held on the
7th day of April, 1984.
Mayor Cummings advised that the purpose of this emergency
meeting was to appoint a Recount Committee and set the date and
time for the recount should the Council approve Mr. Pollan's
application for a recount.
After some discussion, Councilman Riggins moved that Mr.
John Pollan's application be accepted; that the Recount Committee
be:
Mr. Lee Solley, chairman
Mrs. Janet Hinshaw
Mr. Harvey Gover
and that the recount be held on Monday, April 16, 1984 at 9:00
a.m. in the office of the City Secretary. Councilman Brede
seconded the motion. The motion carried by the following vote:
AYES: All members present voted aye.
NOES: None
There being no other business
