OF THE
CITY OF STEPHENVILLE, HELD ON
THURSDAY, MARCH 13, 1986 - 1:30 P.M.
The emergency session of the City Council of the City of Stephenville,
Texas, was called to order by the Mayor with the following members
present:
Mayor: David Clayton
Councilmembers: Bob Self
Larry Hammett
Wm. G. Brede
Allen Horne
and with the following members absent:
G. A. "Pinkie" Swindle
Larry Tatum
James L. McSwain and Ray Reynolds.
Also attending were City Administrator Kurt Ackermann, City Secretary
Joyce Pemberton, City Attorney Joseph Chandler, Director of Finance
Charlene Young, and Chief of Police Doug Conner.
Mayor Clayton recessed the open meeting and called the City Council
into executive session as provided in Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes,
Article 6252 -17, for the purpose of discussing the pending lawsuit of
Charles A. Tobias vs. Erath County, Texas et al, Cause No. CA 4 86 156
E in the United States District Court for the Northern District of
Texas.
Mayor Clayton reconvened the City Council into open session.
Councilman Larry Hammett moved, seconded by Councilman Allen Horne,
passage and adoption of the following resolution:
RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED on March 13, 1986 that the City of
Stephenville, Texas, retain and employ S. G. Johndroe, Jr. of Fort
Worth, Texas, and he is retained and employed to represent the City of
Stephenville and to represent the members of the Police Department of
the City of Stephenville who are defendants in this suit of Charles A.
Tobias vs. Erath County, Texas et al, being No. CA 4 86 156 E pending
in the United States District Court for the Northern District of
Texas.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of March, 1986.
There being no other business to come before the City Council, Mayor
Clayton adjourned the meeting at 1:50 p.m.
