OF THE
CITY OF STEPHENVILLE, HELD ON
TUESDAY, JULY 2, 1985 - 7:00 P.M.
The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Stephenville,
Texas, was called to order by the Mayor with the following members
present:
Mayor: David Clayton
Councilmembers: Bob Self G. A. Swindle
William G. Brede James L. McSwain
Allen Horne Ray Reynolds (Late -8:25)
Larry Tatum (Late -8:00)
and with the following members absent: Larry Hammett.
Also present were City Administrator Kurt J. Ackermann, City Secretary
Joyce Pemberton, City Attorney Joseph Chandler, Assistant City Attorney
Randy Chandler, Director of Finance Charlene Young, Director of Public
Works Danny Johnson, Chief of Police Doug Conner, Fire Chief Jimmy Mooney,
Municipal Judge Sarah Miller, Planning & Inspections Coordinator Betty
Chew, members of the press and others.
ITEM I: CONSIDER FOR APPROVAL MINUTES OF JUNE 4 1985.
Councilman Swindle moved approval of the minutes of the
City Council meeting held on June 4, 1985 with the correc-
tion that Councilman Larry Tatum left the meeting imme-
diately following the vote on Item 7 and was not present to
vote on Items 8, 9, and 10 as shown in the minutes.
Councilman Self seconded the motion. The motion carried by
the following vote:
AYES: All members present voted aye.
NOES: None
ITEM II: CONSIDER PERMIT FOR OPTIMIST CLUB FUN FAIR FIREWORKS DISPLAY.
Councilman Swindle moved approval for the issuance of a
permit to the Optimist Club for a fireworks display at the
City Park July 4, 1985. Councilman Horne seconded the
motion. The motion carried by the following vote:
AYES: All members present voted aye.
NOES: None
ITEM III: HEAR RECOMMENDATIONS FROM PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION.
Mayor Clayton, with the consent of the City Council, set
Friday, July 12, 1985 at 10:00 a.m. in Council Chambers at
City Hall, 354 N. Belknap Street, as the date, time, and
place for a public hearing to consider the following
requests for change of zoning:
a. Favorable recommendation for rezoning in the Tanglewood
Northwest Subdivision.
b. Favorable recommendation to rezone 563 and 565 N. Graham
Street from R -1 to B -2.
c. Favorable recommendation to rezone 562 N. Graham Street
from R -1 to B -1.
