MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING
City of Stephenville - City Council
THURSDAY, APRIL 16, 1998 - 5:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, convened in special session on Thursday,
April 16, 1998, at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 298 West Washington Street,
with the meeting being open to the public and notice of said meeting, giving the date, time, place
and subject thereof, having been posted as prescribed by Chapter 551, Government Code,
Vernon's Texas Codes Annotated, with the following members present, to wit:
Mayor: John Pollan
Mayor Pro-Tem: Bill Corbin
Councilmembers: Marshall Shelton
Joel Hillin
K. H. Conatser
Bea Marin
Billy Bob Hodges
Barbara Terrell
Jerry B. Madkins
Others Attending: Don Davis, City Administrator
Cindy L. Stafford, City Secretary
Randy Thomas, City Attorney
I. CALL TO ORDER.
Mayor Pollan called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. and declared a quorum
present.
II. ORDER RATIFYING BRANCH EARLY VOTING
John Moser read a letter which is attached hereto and made a part hereof for all
purposes.
Council member Marshall Shelton also filed a letter with the City Secretary to be made
a part of the minutes. Said letter is attached to these minutes.
Council member Corbin made a motion to approve the branch early voting places as
follows:
Tuesday, April 21, 1998, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Stephenville Intermediate School.
Friday, April 24, 1998, 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Chamberlin Elementary School.
Monday, April 27, 1998, 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the SISD Administrative Building.
Council member Hillin seconded the motion.
April 16, 1998 - Minutes of Special Meeting
Following a discussion of this matter, a roll call vote was taken, and the motion failed
by the following vote:
Ayes: Council members Corbin, Marin, and Mayor Pollan.
Noes: Council members Madkins, Terrell, Shelton, Hillin, Conatser, and Hodges.
III. ADJOURN
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
