City City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, met in, .',an adjourned regular meeting on October 1, 1943, with C. A. Mc- Donald, Mayor Pro-Tem, presiding, and the following aldermen present: S. E. Richardson, T. G. FLrk, Dan Lane, Reecie Jones, T. R. Moore and Bras Cole. Mayor Pro-Tem stated the purpose of the meeting was to con- sider the buying of War Bonds during the present drive. After discussion, it was moved by Reecie Jones, seconded by Bras Cole, that the City buy a $5,000.00 Bond out of the City Water Works Operating Fund. Motion carried. There being no other business at this time, the Council stood adjourned subject to the Mayors call. Mayor Pro-Tem. ATTEST: C/City Secretary. Stephenville, Texas October 5, 1943. The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, met in regular session on the 5th of October, 1943, with C. A. McDonald, Mayor Pro-Tem, presiding, and the following aldermen present: T. G. Funk, S. E. Richardson, C. E. Martin, Bras Cole, T. R. Moore, and Reecie Jones. Minutes of previous meetings were read and approved; Mr. Bill Dickerson came before the Council asking that the pity establish the width of Crow Street and the line on the south . / aide of his 10 acre block along same street. This matter was re- 'erred to the Street Cpmmittee. The 1943 Tax Roll was presented and on motion by T. G. Funk, seconded by Bras Cole,;that same be approved. Notion carried. 3 S0 It was moved by S. E. Richardson, seconded by T. R. i+oore, :,that the contract between Joseph A. Chandler and the City for the ,collection of delinquent taxes be extended for one more year at the same commission rate. Motion carried. A tin building situated behind the Cross Drug Store, belong- ing to the G. W. Jenks Estate, was reported to be in bad repair. After discussion, it was decided by the Council that D. C. Jenks !. of Purcell, Okla., be notified by letter asking that the building.!:, -be torn down, same being ih^the fire zone and a detriment to the " !citizen health. A written petition was presented by the Citizens on the corner of 11. Graham and East Frey streets asking that the drain- age ditch running east by the colored M. E. Church be covered. =It was moved by S. E. Richardson, seconded by Reecie Jones, that same be tabled for further investigation. Motion carried. F. H. Gaines Plumber Bond was presented and it was moved by I, T. R. Prloore, seconded by S. E. Richardson, that same be approved.': Motion carried. After discussion, a by S. E. Richardson, that the following amounts; motion was made by C. E. Martin, seconded the salaries listed below be raised to All common labor hands working for the City be paid .40� per hour. Bills and accounts were read and on motion by Bras Cole, seconded by T. G. Funk, were allowed and ordered paid.
