The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, met in an adjourned regular meeting on September 15, 1941, Members present were J. W. Clements, Mayor, and Aldermen C. A. McDonald, Chas. Neblett Jr., L. Riggins, Doyle White, and Dan Lane. With County Commissioner Joe J. Jarrott and County Judge Wallace Scott present, it was stated by Mayor Clements that the purpose of the meeting was to make more room for the County Wel- fare Office, W. P. A. Area Office, and the Old Age Assistance _ Office. Miss Whitaker, W. P. A. Area Director, introduced Mr. Taylor, County Coordinator from the State Office, who gave the plans for the ensuing year and the needs for more office space. After discussion, it was suggested by County Judge Scott that the County would furnish office space for Miss Whitaker if the City would remodel the offices now occupied by the County Welfare Worker and the Old Age Assistance. Agreements made. In an executive session held on September 2, 1941, it was ordered that due to illness Mr. C. C. Davis, City Secretary, Assessor and Collector, be dropped from the pay roll effective September 15, 1941, and that Jack Henderson, Deputy, be appointed; City Secretary, Assessor and Collector, effective September 16, 1941, at a salary of $62.50 per month for the City, and that he have full charge of the office. There being no further business, the Council stood adjourned in an adjourned regular meeting, subject to the Mayor's call. ATTEES'TT:� Mayor. City Secretary.
