HomeMy WebLinkAbout1941-07-01 Regular Meeting�9 Stephenville, Texas Suety dyfig.1, 1941. The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, met in regular session on June 1, 1941, with Mayor J. I. Clements pre - biding and the following aldermen present: Dan Lane, L. Riggins, Fred T'cCleskey, Doyle 1'4hitc, Dar. Goodga.r,e, Chas. Neblett Jr., and C. A. McDonald. Business was called for by the T^.a.yor. T.'irutes of previous meeting were read and approved. It was moved by Dan Goodgame, seconded by Doyle ,White, that the ordinance of Deputy Tax Losescor and Collector be passed, and the Finance Coc:znittee have the power to name the amount of the ii Bond. T;otion carried. It was moved by Chas. Neblet/t—Jr., seconded by Dan Lane, to hire Jack Henderson as Deputy.:Tax kssessor and Collector,and City Secretary, at a salary of *4'I00.00 per month, and Mr. Henderson to` have control of the office in Yr. Davis' absence. The motion was carried. It was moved by Chas Dieblett Jr., seconded by Fred YcCles'r..ey,'', that the Cite furnish John Tarleton College with vrater at fifteen cents per thousand gallons. Yotion carried. It was moved by C. K. McDonald, seconded by Fred YcCleskey, that only regular employees of the 1vater Department and firemen be'allowed free rater. (This does not include charity customers). D'otion carried. i It was moved by Fred McCleskey, seconded by Dan Goodgame, to put Mrs. Jessie 0. Karnes on the charity water list and cancel all'; her past due bills. Motion carried. It 7ras roved by C. A' YcDona.ld, seconded by Doyle �-hite, to pay night policeman, Buster Z,hite, •X90.00 per month and allow him ,,10.00 in gasoline. Yootion carried. Yeblett Jr., that t;,e equalization board order be passed. Motion carries',. Sills and accounts were read and on motion by Fred YcCleskey, seconded by Clns.
