HomeMy WebLinkAbout1941-04-18 Notice to BiddersNOTICE TO BIDDERS Sealed proposals addressed to the Mayor and Council of the City of Stephenville will be received at the office of the City Secretary until two o'clock P.M. April 18, 1941 , for furnishing all materials, equipment, and labor for constructing a complete water softening plant for said City of Stephenville, Texas. Each bid shall be accompanied by a cashierts or certified check issued by a lank satisfactory to the City of Stephenville, or a satisfactory proposal bond in amount equal to 5% of the bid, as a guaranty that the bidder will enter into a contract and furnish bond within ten days after notice of award. The successful bidder shall furnish bond of approved form in the amount of 100% of the contract written by a surety company authorized to act as surety in the State of Texas. Bidders are expected to inspect site of the work and to thoroughly inform themselves regarding all local conditions. The City of Stephenville reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. Unreasonable (or unbalanced) unit prices will be considered sufficient cause for the rejection of any bid. Plans, Specifications and Proposal forms are on file for examination at the office of the City Secretary, Stephenville, Texas, and at the office of Freese and Nichols, Consulting Engineers, 407 Capps Building, Fort Worth, Texas. Copies may be secured from the Consulting Engineers upon deposit of $25.00, of which amount $15.00 will be returned to the bidder on submission of a bonifido bid with return of Plans and Specifications; or upon return of the Plans and Specifications imediately after examination, with advice that a bid will not be submitted; otherwise the deposit shall be forfited.
