AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT PORTION OF AN ALLEY RUNNING FROM NORTH RACE AVENUE
ON THE EAST TO THE WEST SIDE OF LOTS 1 AND 2, OF BLOCK 20, FREY FIRST ADDITION
TO THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS, CONTAINING 880 SQUARE FEET OF LAND TO HAVE
BEEN ABANDONED AS AN ALLEY, ORDERING THE SAME VACATED AND CLOSED, FINDING THE
VALUE OF SAID LAND AND AUTHORIZING THE CONVEYANCE OF SAME TO CALVARY BAPTIST
CHURCH, UPON PAYMENT OF THE AMOUNT FOUND TO BE THE VALUE OF THIS LAND.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS:
SECTION ONE
That portion of alley running from North Race Avenue on the east to the
west side of Lots 1 and 2 of Block 20 of the Frey First Addition the City
Of Stephenville, Texas, and described as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron rod set in the west line of North Race Avenue, being
the SE corner of Lot 1 of Block 20 of the Frey First Addition to the City
of Stephenville, for the NE corner of this tract, from which the NE corner
of said Block 20 bears N 30 degrees 00' W, 100.00';
THENCE S 30 degrees 00' E along the west line of North Race Avenue,
crossing said alley, 8.0' to an iron rod set at the NE corner of Lot 2,
for the BE corner of this tract;
THENCE S 60 degrees 00, W along the south line of said alley, 110.0' to an
iron rod set at the NW corner of Lot 2 and in the east line of Lot 4 of
Block 5 of the Butler Addition, for the SW corner of this tract;
THENCE N 30 degrees 00' W along the west end of said alley and the east
line of Lot 4, 8.0' to an iron rod set at the SW corner of Lot 1 of Block
20, for the NW corner of this tract;
THENCE N 60 degrees 00' E along the north line of said alley, 110.0, to
the place of beginning and containing 880 square feet of land.
is hereby declared to have been abandoned for alley purposes and is hereby
declared vacated and closed for alley purposes.
SECTION TWO
That portion of alley hereinabove described is hereby found by the City
Council of Stephenville, Texas, to be of a value of $88.00. Said amount
having been offered by Calvary Baptist Church for said alley, it is hereby
ordered and directed that Lavinia Lohrmann, Mayor of the City of
Stephenville, Texas, execute a special warranty deed to the said Calvary
Baptist Church upon the payment by them to the City of Stephenville,
Texas, of said sum of $88.00, the said Calvary Baptist Church owning Lots
1 and 2, Block 20, Frey First Addition, adjacent to said alley.
PASSED and APPROVED this 10th day of November, 1992.
