HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-R - SPECIAL ELECTION RESULTSRESOLUTION A RESOLUTION AND ORDER CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE CITY SPECIAL ELECTION. There came to be considered the returns of an election held on the 8th day of August, 1992 for the purpose of electing the hereinafter named official and authorizing the issuance of $750,000 in Street Improvement Tax Bonds; and it appearing from said returns, duly and legally made, that there were cast at said election 1063 valid and legal votes; that each of the candidates and the proposition in said election received the following votes; — CITY COUNCIL, PLACE 3: George Swearingen 541 Carl Douglas Pleasant 414 L. Keith Madison 98 PROPOSITION: The issuance of $750,000 Street Improvement Tax Bonds For 531 Against 508 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS: That said election was duly called; that notice of said election was given in f 1 accordance with law, and that said election was held in accodance with law, and -- that: George Swearingen was duly elected to City Council, Place 3; That $750,000 Street Improvement Tax Bonds received a favorable majority vote and was passed. Said above -named party is hereby declared duly elected to said respective office, subject to the taking of the oath of office as provided by the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter of the City of Stephenville, Texas. Said Proposition has received a favorable majority vote in all respects and has carried.
