HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-R- - ALTERNATE DISCHARGE LINE PROJECTRESOLUTION OF THE STEPHENVILLE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BOARD OF DIRECTORS PERTAINING TO ALTERNATE DISCHARGE LINE PROJECT WHEREAS, the Stephenville Chamber of Commerce supports and encourages the development and beautification of the Stephenville City Park and the Bosque River; and WHEREAS, the Community Development Division of the Stephenville Chamber of Commerce, on November 23, 1992, adopted as the #1 priority for 1993, the enhancement of the Bosque River and the City Park; and WHEREAS, the current nature of the Upper Reach of the Bosque River through the City Park is that of an intermittent stream flowing only with sufficient rainfall; and WHEREAS, a constant flow of water into the Bosque River through the City Park can be provided by means of the Alternate Discharge Project; and WHEREAS, opportunities for stabilizing and improving the banks of the River and creating a more desirable atmosphere depend on a constant flow of water; and WHEREAS, the cost of including the Alternate Discharge Project with the bond issue represents only a small increase in the total cost; and WHEREAS, the Alternate Discharge Project will be beneficial to all the citizens of Stephenville and visitors to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Stephenville Chamber of Commerce, that the Stephenville Chamber of Commerce endorses the concept of the Alternate Discharge Project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the authority foresaid, that the Stephenville Chamber of Commerce urges the Stephenville City Council to include aforementioned project in the State Revolving Fund Bond Issue for Wastewater Interceptor Line Improvements.
