HomeMy WebLinkAbout1940-09-23 Regular Meeting2 07 6eptemoer L3, iv4v. The City Council of Stephenville, Texas, met in an adjourned regular meeting on September 23, 1940. Mayor Clements presided with the following aldermen in attendance: Fred McCleskey, K. D. ;Hamilton, T. T. Oliver, Jack Henderson, H. D. Barham, L. Higgins, Chas. Neblett Jr., and Doyle White. Mayor Clements stated that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss further the water softner. After hearing Joseph A. Chand in regard to the legal action to be taken by the City as to order of election for such water softner, the City Attorney was instruo ted to draw*an ordinance ordering an election, calling for fiftee thousand dollar knxdcf=suz revenue warrant issue. A motion was made by K. D. Hamilton, seconded by T. T. Oli that the report of J. A. Bing on swimming pool be accepted and approved. Motion carried. The Tax Roll for the year 1940 was presented for approval. Zt was moved by Chas. Neblett Jr., seconded by L. Riggins, that the 1940 Tax Roll be accepted and approved. Motion carried. It was moved by Jack Henderson, seconded by Fred McCleskey, ,that the Depository Bond of The Stephenville State Bank be accep and approved. Motion carried. There being nothing further at this date, the Council stood adjourned in an adjourned regular meeting, subject to the call of the Mayor. ATTEST: r--Mayor. City Secretary.
