March 18, 1940.
The City Council of Stephenville, Texas, met in adjourned
regular meeting on the 18th of March, 1940, with Mayor Henry
Clark and the following aldermen present: T. T. Oliver, K. D.
Hamilton, Fred McCleskey, Jack Henderson, H. D. Barham, Chas.
Neblett Jr. and L. Riggins.
The purpose of the meeting being to discuss ordinance and
agreement as presented by the State Highway Department asking
that as ordinance be passed in regard to Highway No. 68. After
discussion, a motion was made by Chas. Neblett Jr., seconded by
K. D. Hamilton, that said attached ordinance, on page 176, be
passed. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Fred N.cCleskey, seconded by K. D. Ham- L
ilton, that the Road and Bridge Committee employ a superintendentl'
for the W. P. A. City Street Work. Motion carried. Chas. Neblett
Jr. was added to the Street Committee in connection with the
street paving project.
There being no other business, the Council stood adjourned.
