Stephenville, Texas
January 2, 1940.
The City Council of the City 6f Stephenville, Texas, met in
regular session on January 2, 1940, with Mayor Henry Clark and
the following Aldermen present: K. D. Hamilton, T. T. Oliver,
Jack Henderson, Fred McCloskey, Chas. Reblett Jr., H. D. Barham
and L. Riggins.
Minutes of last meeting were read and approved.
By request of Mr. E. A. Blanchard, Chas. Neblett Jr., was
appointed as a member of the Air -Port Committee.
A committee from the Twentieth Century Club came before the
'Council asking that city taxes against the Club be cancelled for
the years 1937, 1938 and 1939. A motion was made by Chas. Neblett
Jr., seconded by T. T. Oliver, that taxes as above mentioned by
cancelled. Motion carried.
The petition of J. L. Lee and others was presented to the
Council asking that street lights be installed at the intersec-
tion of Lillian Ave. and Shirley Street, and at the intersection
of Frey Street and Lillian Ave. The request was referred to the
Street Committee.
Bills and accounts.were read and on motion by Chas. Neblett
Jr., seconded by T. T. Oliver, were allowed and ordered paid.
The Council the adjourned to meet
January 3, 1940.
