Yay 2, 1939.
The City Council of the City of Stephenville met in regular
session on the 2nd of Nay, 1939, with Mayor Henry Clark and the
following aldermen present: Chas. Neblett Jr., Jack Henderson,
T. T. Oliver, H. D. Barham, Geo. Minter, Pred Y..cCleskey and K. D.
Hamilton.
ifinutes of previous meetings were read and approved.
Election returns of an election held on April 25th, 1939, for!,
the purpose of electing one alderman in hard No. 2 were opened,
and canvassed, and it was found that L. Riggins had received the
highest vote, after which Mr. Rigfiins was declared duly elected
as Alderman of V''ard No. 2, to serve an unexpired term of one year.'
Motion was made by Chas. Neblett Jr., seconded by Geo. Minter;,
that the City guarantee $15.00 per month rent on Jas. A. Smith
woodwork shop for the purpose of N. Y. A. project to construct
chairs and lockers for the Recreation Hall and Swimming Pool. The,
motion was carried.
Bills and accounts were read and on motion by Geo. Minter,
seconded by T. T. Oliver, were allowed and ordered paid.
