HomeMy WebLinkAbout1938-04-08 Trade Square Purchasea, TO THE H090RABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF STEPiENVILLE: I desire to purchase an option upon the South one- half of Block No. 15 of the Original town of Stephenville owned by the City of Stephenville and generally known as the "Trades Square". I am willing to pay the sum of ONE ($1.00) DOLLAR, for an option on this property, giving me the right to purchase said property anytime prior to Novem- ber 1, 1938. If I exercise the option, I will pay to the City of Stephenville the further sum of NINE HUNDRED NINETY NINE ($999.00) DOLLARS, upon the conveyance to me by the City of said property. IN, I � On this the 8th day of April, 1938, the City Council of the City of Stephenville met in call session and the Council considered the proposition of Chas. S. Long to purchase an option on the South one-half of hlock iVo. 15 of the original town of Stephenville, said proposition having been made to the City Council in writing and the council having considered such proposition, it was moved by Alderman Ceo. i'Iinter that the City of Stephenville give to the said Chas. S. Long an option to purchase the said property at anytime prior to November 1, 1938. The price of said option to be the sum of ONE DOLLAR, and in the event said Long exercised said option, he shall pay to the City of Stephenville the further sum of NINE HUDRED ivLiETY NINE ($999.00) DOLLARS, and further that at the time said option is exercised that the said Chas. S. Long shall present to the City Council satisfactory evidence that he will erect a hotel build- ing costing approximately THIRTY FIVE THOUSAND ($35000.00) DOLLARS, upon said property, and that the said Chas S. Long and his as- signs will use said property for hotel purposes only and that there shall be reserved and dedicated to public use an alley 12 feet wide between the South one-half and North one-half of said Block 15, 6 feet of said alley to be taken from the South one-half and 6 feet from the North one-half of said Block and said alley shall be for the use and benefit of the owners of said:! Block. And said motion was seconded by Alderman T. T. Oliver and there being no further discussion, the vote was called for and said motion was carried by the following vote: Ayes 6 , No 0 Thereupon the Mayor declared said motion carried.
