The City Council of the City of Stephenville met in regular meeting on the 7th of December, 1937, with Mayor Henry Clark and the following aldermen present: J. 0. Blakeney, K. D. Hamilton, C. L. Cromwell, T. T. Oliver, R. B. Bassel, J. C. Holcomb, and (George Minter. Minutes of last meeting were read and approved. The matter of having the auditorium and Tax Collector's office painted was mentioned b'yethe fire committee. A motion was made by R. B. Basset, seconded by K. D. Hamilton, that the Fire Committee make a trade with Main & Barber to do such work as necessary in regard to the matter. Motion carried. A request of the Stephenville School for $75.00 to buy Band instruments was headd, after which a motion was made by Geo. Minter, seconded by J. 0. Blakeney, that such request be granted and that check for $75.00 be drawn in favor of H. E. Braeuer, Secretary of the School Board, for the above mentioned purpose. Motion carried. A motion was made by C. L. Cromwell, seconded by J. C. Holcomb, that a six inch water main be put down on North Belknap Street from Prey Street north to the City Limits. Motion carried. Bills and accounts were read and on motion by J. 0. Blakeney, seconded by J. C. Holcomb, were allowed and ordered paid. There being no further business, the Council stood adjourned in ad adjourned regular meeting, subject to the Mayorls all. Attest 1,7Mayor. City Secretary.
