August 27, 1937.
The City Council of Stephenville, Texas, met in an adjourned.:
regular meeting on the 27th of August, 1937, there being present
Mayor Henry Clark, J. 0. Blakeney, R. B. Bassel, J. C. Holcomb,
K. D. Hamilton, C. L. Cromwell, and T. T. Oliver.
A committee composed of H. E. Braeuer, W. N. Brown and J. E.
Burnett, representing the Stephenville School Bbat4 came before
°the Council asking that the City join with the School Board in
the matter of employing G. W . Collum as a Band teacher for the
Public Schools. After discussion, a motion was made by R. B. Bas all
seconded by J. 0. Blakeney, that the City Council join the School
Board in employment of Mr. Collum and assume and pay one half of '',
Mr. Collum's salary of $125.00 per month, being $62.50 assumed by„
the City. Motion duly carried.
A motion was made by C. L. Cromwell, seconded by J. C. Hol-
comb, that the City issue to Mr. Collum a warrant for $150,00,
same to be matched by the School Board for the purpose of buying
instruments for the band. Motion carried.
Motion was made by J. C. Holcomb, seconded by R. B. Bassel,
that ordinance on page 63, Minute Book E. same being ordinance
ilevying tax rate for the year 1937, be passed as read. Motion
carried.
There being no further business, the Council stood adjourned,:
in an adjourned regular meeting, subject to the Mayor's call.
