HomeMy WebLinkAbout1937-06-01 Regular MeetingStephenville, Texas June 1, 1937. tl The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, met in ' regular session on the 1st of June, 1937, with Mayor Henry Clark and the following Aldermen present: C. L. Cromwell, George Minter, T. T. Oliver, R. B. Bassel, J. 0. Blakeney, and K. D. Hamilton. A committee from the Soft Ball Club came before the Council asking for permission to erect ball ground and lights at the City, Park. After discussion, a motion was made by C. L. Cromwell, seconded by George Minter, that the Council grant permission to said ball club as asked for. Motion duly carried. A motion was made by C. L. Cromwell, seconded by George Linter, that the Council ask Mr. Baker to revise and resubmit plans for Swimming Pool and Recreation Hall to the Federal Government for approval. Motion carried. Requests of various ladies clubs for the erection of a wateri softner for the City wer4stated. A motion was made by R. B. Bassel, seconded by K. D. Hamilton, that the Council assure the various ' clubs that all possible will be done in regard to the matter, also, to appoint a committee of two to investigate as to cost, operations, etc., of such plant. Committee appointed --tee+ K. D. Hamilton andi George Minter. Lotion carried. The matter of the lease on S. Race St. between blocks 111 an4 112, was stated, and after didcussion, motion was made by C. L. Cromwell, seconded by J. 0. Blakeney, that the Finance Committee .have lease drawn in favor of Roy Stafford and Oren Ellis, on said property for a period of 25 years, said lease to be subject to approval of the City Council. Motion carried. A motion was made by J. 0. Blakeney, seconded by K. D. Hamil'r ton, that the Council accept and approve action of the Fire Depart- ment in regard to the Firemen's Relief and Pention Law. Motion carried. A motion was made by J. 0. Blakeney, seconded by T. T. OliveIrs that when water customers unpaid water accounts reach near $5.00 I water deposit that all such customers be out off. .Motion carried Bills and accounts were read and on motion by J. 0. Blakeney seconded by T. T. Oliver, were allowed and ordered paid, after which the Council stood adjourned, in an adjourned regular meeting, subject to the Mayor's call. ATTEST: Secretary.
