The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, met in regular session at the City Hall on the 4th of May, 1937, with Mayor Henry C&ark and the following aldermen present: T. T. Oliver J. 0. Blakeney, Geo. Minter, R. B. Bassel, K. D. Hamilton, and C. L. Cromwell. Minutes of last meeting were read and approved.' Application for lease on South Race Street, between City Blocks 111 and 112, by Roy Stafford and Oren Ellis, was read. After discussion, C. L. Cromwell and J. 0. Blakeney were appointed as committee to take up the matter with Mr. Stafford and Mr. Ellis. The election of a Mayor Pro-Tem was taken up. T. T. Oliver vaa nominated and duly elected as same. A motion was made by K. D. Hamilton, seconded by R. B. Bassel;, 'that the City Attorney make_a report to the Council in regard to it the law on levy of gross tax on utilities. Motion carried. ij A motion was made by C. L. Cromwell, seconded by T. T. Olivery, ithat the Finance Committee make sale of the old water plant. i Motion carried. l i Bills and accounts were read and on motion by R. B. Bassel, seconded by T. T. Oliver, were allowed and ordered paid. The Council then stood adjourned in an adjourned regular meeting, subject to the call of the Mayor. ATTEST: M or . Secretary. 50. That this ordinance be in effect from and after its passage. The motion to pass said ordinance was seconded by Alderman and after its discussion the ques- {tion was called for, and a vote was taken, and the foregoing or- dinance was unanimously passed by said City Council, all Aldermen ,present voting in favor of said ordinance. SZ Notice Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, will receive sealed proposals for the ousted :of the City Funds of said City from any banking corporation, asso ciation or individual bankers doing business within the City of ,Stephenville. All banking corporations, associations or individu ,bankers desiring to be selected as the depository of the funds of :said City shall file their sealed bids with C. C. Davis, City Sec retary, on or before the Sth day of July, 1937. Any banking cor- .poration, association or individual banker doing business in said City desiring to bid, shall deliver to the City Secretary on or rbefore the 6th day of July, 1937, a sealed proposal, stating the rate per cent upon daily balance that such bidder offers to pay 'to the City for the privilege of being made the depository of the funds of the City for the next year following the date above men- ltioned. All such proposals shall be securely kept by the City Seers- tary and shall not be opened until the 6th day of July, 1937, at Vwhich time the City Council of said City shall meet for the pur- ,pose of passing upon the same, and no proposals will be received by the City after such sealed bids have been opened. The City !'Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
