Mayor Clark, and the following aldermen !; were present: R. B. Bassel, H. C. Martin, J. C. Holcomb, K. D. gamilton, T. T. Oliver, and C. L. Cromwell. 'I Minutes of last meeting were read and approved. Mayor Clark 'called for business. i R. B. Bassel reported that due to sickness of Alderman Minter! !that nothing had been done in regard to purchase of land from R. L� Thompson. More time was granted the committee. The matter of election of a Mayor-Pro-Tem was taken up. T. T. 'Oliver was nominated for the place, and after vote was taken, Mr. i Oliver was declared duly elected. Resignation of nightwatchman A. I. Lewis was read, and on motion by R. B. Bassel, seconded by C. L. Cromwell, Mr. Lewis's resignation was accepted. Motion carried. ,that A motion was made by C. L. Cromwell, seconddd by R. B. Bassel, W. C. Ingley be employed as night-watchman. Motion carried. 'I Sealed bids for a truck and read. After discussion Hamilton, seconded by C. L. !International Truck from W. Motion duly carried. Ii for the Water Department were,:opendd of all bids, motion was made by K. D. Cromwell, that the City purchase an L. Ross Motor Co., at a price of $621.0. n 'i After discussion of parties due delinquent water bills, motion Was made by R. B. Bassel, seconded by H. C. Martin, that all parties who do not pay water bills must be out off. Motion carried. Bills and accounts were read, and on motion by R. B. Bassel, 'I !seconded by J. C. Mayor. i►i Stephenville, Texas June 2, 1936• The Stephenvillc City Council met in regular session on the 2nd day of June, 1936, with Mayor Henry Clark, and the following aldermen present: C. L. Cromwell, Geo. Minter, K. D. Hamilton, J. 0. Blakeney, T. T. Oliver, R. B. Bassel, and H. C. Martin. Minutes of last meeting were read and approved. The Mayor called for business. After discussion of the contract with Texas power & Light Company in regard to charges for electric power for pumping water, a motion was made by H. C. Martin, seconded by Geo. Minter, that the City enter into such contract for period of three years, at a charge of one cent per K. W., with minimum charge of $167.00, giving the Mayor authority to execute such contract. Motion carried. An ordinance for the purpose of appointing a Board of Equalization was duly passed, being pages 5 and 6 of these minut and a part thereof. Bills and accounts were read, on on motion by R. B. Bassel, seconded by T. T. Oliver, were allowed and ordered paid. The Council then stood adjourned in an adjournod regular meeting subject to the call of the Mayor. ATTEST City Secretary. 'Mayor. 11. Stephenville, Texas On this the 2 day of A. C'.0 and �bA, Pu r vas be i .appointed as members of the Equalization Board of the City of Stephenville, with alternates Crnd }-ti , and 6 for the year 1936, and the question being called for, a vote was l ,taken and the said above named parties were unanimously elected i 'by said City Council as members of said Board of Equalization, i and thereupon Aldermanatj /lo_M;174'.4,,U moved that the following ordinance be enacted by the City Council of the City of!1 Stephenville, to -wit: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY;OF STEPHENVIL E, ,TEXAS: Sec. 1; That the Board of Equalization,heretofore on this day appointed by the City Council of the City of Stephenville, proceed to perform their duties according to law, and the date of the first meeting of said Board of Equalization is hereby 4. 6 11 1' 1 11fixed on the s_� /z'-7�4 r- / c-M days 6f o A. I . !I 1936, at which time said Board of Equalization shall hold its i first meeting in the City Hall in the City of Stephenville, TexasO if Sec. 2: That said Board may have such other meetings as are by law and as may be required to lawfully perform their ties as such board. Sec. 3: That this ordinance be in effect from and after its sage. The motion to pass said ordinance was seconded by Alderman and after its discussion the question I �Iwas called for, and a vote was taken, and the foregoing ordinance I was unanimously passed by said City Council, all Aldermen present Lvoting in favor of said ordinance. if Mayor.
