City of Stephenville - City Council
Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 5:30 PM
The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, convened on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at 5:30 PM, in
the Training Room at City Hall, 298 West Washington Street, for the purpose of a Special Council Meeting and
Council Work Session, with the meeting being open to the public and notice of said meeting, giving the date,
time, place and subject thereof, having been posted as prescribed by Chapter 551, Government Code,
Vernon's Texas Codes Annotated, with the following members present, to wit:
COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Jerry K. Weldon, II
Council Member Mark McClinton
Council Member Doug Svien
Council Member Rhett Harrison
Council Member Sherry Zachery
Council Member Carla Trussell
Council Member Brady Pendleton
Council Member Alan Nix

Special Council Meeting
1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m.
2. Consider Approval of Correction to the Erath County Humane Society Contract
Amendment Passed on September 21, 2017
MOTION to approve the correction to the Erath County Humane Society Contract
Amendment. Moved by Doug Svien, seconded by Sherry Zachery.
CARRIED by unanimous vote.
3. Adjourn
The special meeting was adjourned at 5:32 p.m.

The work session was called to order at 5:32 p.m.
2. Discussion Regarding the Tourism and Visitors Bureau and the
Expenditure of Hotel Occupancy Tax Funds

Staff was advised to join the Texas Hotel and Lodging Association. Once the
city was a member, staff would see what resources were available from them
to assist in starting a Tourism and Visitor Center.
