j The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, convened on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at 5:30 PM, in
the City Hall Training Room, 298 West Washington Street, for the purpose of a Special Caolled Meeting, with
the meeting being open to the public and notice of said meeting, giving the date, time, place and subject
thereof, having been posted as prescribed by Chapter 551, Government Code, Vernon's Texas Codes
Annotated, with the following members present, to wit:

Call to Order
Mayor Svien called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION GRANT
1. Consider Approval of Resolution No. 2018-11-16 Supporting the Removal and
Reconstruction of Sidewalks in the Downtown Area
Jen Basham, Director of Parks and Leisure Services, explained that after submitting the
completed application to for the Downtown Revitalization Grant, she received word that
a resolution would need to be passed in order to receive funding declaring Washington
Street beginning at Graham Street and ending in the 400 block of Washington Street as a
slum/blight area.
MOTION by Mark McClinton, second by Carla Trussell, to approve Resolution No. 2018-R-
16.
MOTION CARRIED by unanimous vote.

RESOLUTION NO. 2018-R-16
A RESOLUTION APPROVING FUNDING IN SUPPORT OF THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE
DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION PROGRAM TO REMOVE AND RECONSTRUCT SIDEWALKS/SLUM AND
BLIGHT AREAS IN A PROJECT AREA LOCATED IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA
WHEREAS, the sidewalks are in poor condition and accidents may occur resulting in injury to
citizens because of the unsafe sidewalks, and
WHEREAS, the sidewalks in the Downtown Area will not meet public safety standards and
guidelines that provide safe and adequate access to the businesses for the disabled and senior citizens,
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Stephenville desires to provide safe lighting for the
Downtown Area do agree on the following;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
The City Council has reviewed and hereby designates the Downtown Area of Stephenville, Texas,
described as the "E. Washington St. beginning at Graham St. to the property line of 467 E. Washington;'
as suffering from slum/blight conditions.
PASSED AND APPROVED at a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Stephenville on this 30th
day of October, 2018 by the following vote:
