HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-O-10 - Procedure in Animal Bite CasesORDINANCE NO. 1992-10 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 3, SECTION 3-6, OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS, WHICH SETS OUT THE PROCEDURES FOR THE QUARANTINE OF ANIMALS IN ANIMAL BITE CASES WITHIN THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS: CHAPTER 3, SECTION 3-6, "PROCEDURE IN ANIMAL BITE CASES" IS HEREBY AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS: CHAPTER 3 ANIMALS AND FOWL SECTION 3-6. Procedure in Animal Bite Cases. It shall be the dut of any person owning or having charge of any warm-blooded animal Y which has bitten, clawed or scratched any person to have such animal confined by a licensed veterinarian for a period of ten (10) days, and if for any reason such animal is not so confined by the owner, the animal control officer shall impound such animal for observation. If, at the expiration of the ten (10) days the health of the animal is satisfactory, it may be released upon payment of all expenses incurred by such confinement.
