HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-O-01 - Loading No Parking Ordinance�T:l�i:►1;I�1 �:I��FkYis�Fl AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A LOADING ZONE AND NO PARKING ZONES ON CERTAIN CITY STREETS AROUND TARLETON STATE UNIVERSITY AND PROVIDING FOR PARKING PERMITS FOR RESIDENTS AND EXCEPTIONS TO NO PARKING ZONES FOR FUNERALS AND ESTABLISHING PRO- CEDURES FOR ISSUANCE OF PARKING PERMITS. WHEREAS, the City of Stephenville finds that it is in the best interest of the City to establish a loading zone and no parking zones on certain city streets around Tarleton State University; and ^ WHEREAS, the City of Stephenville desires to provide parking permits for f , residents and some exceptions to the no parking zone - for funerals; and WHEREAS, the City of Stephenville finds it necessary to establish proce- dures for issuance of parking permits; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS: Section 1. A loading zone is established as follows: The south curb of the 1100 block of West Tarleton Street at its intersection with McIlhaney, then east 70 feet (70'). Section 2. No parking zones are established on the City streets as follows: NO PARKING ANYTIME JONES (West) 1500 thru 1700 Blocks - North side LILLIAN 700 Block - West side f 1 LILLIAN 100 thru 600 Blocks - Both sides LILLIAN (South) 100 and 200 Blocks - Both sides MARY 100 Block - Both sides MCILHANEY 100 thru 300 Blocks - West side MCILHANEY 400 and 500 Blocks - East side MCILHANEY (South) 100 Block - East side at it's intersection with Washington, then 80 ft south MCNEILL 1400 Block - South side at it's intersection with LILLIAN ST, then 305 ft east. ROME 600 Block - Both sides ROME 700 Blocks - West side ST. FELIX 100 and 200 Blocks - East side ST. FELIX 300 Block - Both sides t , ST. FELIX 100 and 200 Blocks - West side TARLETON 1100 Block - South side from a point 70 feet east of it's intersection with the east curbline of MCILHANEY, east to it's intersection with the west curbline of OLLIE ST. TARLETON (west) 1000 Block - Both sides TARLETON (west) 1100 Block - North side VANDERBILT 1100 and 1200 Blocks - North side VANDERBILT 1100 Block - South side (between 011ie & MCIlhaney) Section 3. Residents living on the streets designated as no parking zones in Secion 2 above shall be allowed up to two (2) parking permits per residence per year. The parking permit may be used by the resident or a person designated by the resident and shall be the type that is hung by the mirror and shall be num- bered and addressed to allow parking in front of the permitted residence only and, allowing for parking on the street directly in front of the permitted resi- dence only. Parking permits will be issued by the City Water Department and said office shall be responsible to establish procedures for the issuance of the parking permit which procedures shall include the following: Parking permits shall be issued between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. by the City Water Department and during all other hours of the day by the City Police Department. Proof of residency shall be required. Parking permits will be valid by calendar years, color coded and noted on the residents water bill. Section 4. Residents and churches who are involved in funerals may have the funeral home place designated cones in front of their residence to allow funeral parking. Section S. If any person violates any of the provisions of this ordinance, he shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine of not less than $20.00 nor more than $200.00.
