City of Stephenville - City Council
Tuesday, October 18, 2016, 5:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, convened on October 18, 2016, at 5:30 p.m., in
the City Hall Training Ruvrn, 2S2 ".'ee*. `.tlashington Street, for the purpose of a Specia; Cuu.m;; %41eat;ng,
with the meeting being open to the public and notice of said meeting, giving the date, time, place and
subject thereof, having been posted as prescribed by Chapter 551, Government Code, Vernon's Texas
Codes Annotated, with the following members present, to wit:

Call to Order. The meeting of the Stephenville City Council was called to order at 5:31 p.m. on
Tuesday, October 18, 2016.
IL Consider approval of creation of Deputy City Administrator position
MOTION by Doug Svien, second by Mark McClinton, to approve the job description creating the
position of deputy city administrator with changes made to read as follows:
• "This position will be held in conjunction with a director position."
• "Acts as the city's administrative project manager."
MOTION CARRIED by unanimous vote.
III. EXECUTIVE SESSION. At S:55 p.m., Mayor Weldon recessed the open portion of the meeting,
and council went into executive session in compliance with the provisions of the Texas Open
Meetings Law, Subchapter D, Government Code, Vernon's Texas Codes, Annotated, in
accordance with Sec. 551.074 Personnel Matters (a)(1) to deliberate the appointment,
employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or
employee —City Administrator. Council reconvened in open session at 6:19 p.m.
IV. Action taken on items discussed in executive session (if necessary)
MOTION by Mark McClinton, second by Sherry Zachery, to authorize the mayor to execute a
Special Council Meeting
October 18, 2016—Page 1
contract with Wayne McKethan for the position of interim city administrator. MOTION CARRIED
by the following vote:
Ayes: Council members McClinton, Svien, Harrison, Zachery, Warren, and Mayor Weldon.
Noes: Council member Nix.
V. Adjourn
MOTION by Doug Svien, second by Alan Nix, to adjourn the meeting. MOTION CARRIED at 6:34
p.m.
