City of Stephenville -City Council
TUESDAY, AUGUST 13, 1996 - 5:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, convened in special session on August 13, 1996,
at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 354 N. Belknap Street, with the meeting being
open to the public and notice of said meeting, giving the date, time, place and subject thereof, having
been posted as prescribed by Chapter 551, Government Code, Vernon's Texas Codes Annotated, with
the following members present, to wit:
Mayor John Pollan
Councilmembers: Barbara Terrell
Joel Hillin
Marshall Shelton
Scott Evans
Billy Bob Hodges
Bill Corbin
Others Attending Don Davis, City Administrator
Cindy L. Stafford, City Secretary
Randy Thomas, City Attorney
I. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Pollan called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. and declared a quorum present.
II. CONSIDER A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND
DECLARING THE RESULTS OFT CITY SPECIAL ELECTION HELD
ON AUGUST 10, 1996
Mayor Pollin appointed Councilmembers Barbara Terrell, Marshall Shelton, and Bill
Corbin as the committee to canvass the results of the City Special Election held on
August 10, 1996.
After the Canvassing Committee's deliberation, Bill Corbin reported to the Council
that he had been selected to act as Chairman of the Canvassing Committee and that
the Committee had canvassed the results and the tally sheets, and have determined
them to be correct.
Councilmember Corbin stated that Resolution No. 1996-7 set out that Jerry B.
Madkins and K. H. Conatser had been duly elected to their respective seats on the
August 13, 1996 Minutes of Special Meeting �, w

City Council in the City Special Election held on August 10, 1996. (Resolution
attached to and becoming a part of these minutes.)
Councilmember Corbin moved that the Council adopt Resolution No. 1996-7 setting
, out the results of the August 10, 1996 City Special Election. Councilmember Shelton
seconded the motion, and the motion carried by unanimous vote.
III. OATH OF OFFICE OF NEW COUNCILMEMBERS
Cindy L. Stafford, City Secretary, administered the Oath of Office to City
Councilmember, Place 1, Jerry B. Madkins, and City Councilmember, Place 5, K. H.
Conatser.
IV. ADJOURN
There being no other business to come before the Council at this time, Mayor Pollan
adjourned the meeting at 5 : 43 p.m.
