The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, convened on January 2, 1996, at 6:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 354 N. Belknap Street, for the purpose of a Citizens General Discussion Meeting, with the meeting being open to the public and notice of said meeting, giving the date, time, place and subject thereof, having been posted as prescribed by Chapter 551, Government Code, Vernon's Texas Codes Annotated, with the following members present, to wit: Mayor Lavinia Lohrmann Councilmembers: Jim McCray Barbara Terrell Joel Hillin Darrell W. Brown Scott Evans Billy Bob Hodges Bill Corbin Absent John Pollan Others Attending: Don Davis, City Administrator Cindy L. Stafford, City Secretary Randy Thomas, City Attorney I. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Lohrmann called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and declared a quorum present. II. CITIZENS GENERAL DISCUSSION Jane Pratt, 1160 Pecan, Stephenville, Texas, 76401, inquired of the Council if they were receiving monthly financial statements as set out in the City Charter. Mayor Lohrmann stated that they were not receiving this statement. City attorney Randy Thomas told Mayor Lohrmann that he would check the Charter and advise the City Administrator of the appropriate action to take. Citizens Discussion Minutes January 2, 1996 Bob Kimball, 789 West Green, Stephenville, Texas, 76401, had questions about settlement offers made in connection with various lawsuits filed against the City. City Attorney Randy Thomas explained that as long as the lawsuits are pending, the Councilmembers have been advised by their attorneys not to divulge any information about settlement offers or anything relating to a pending lawsuit. Mayor Lohrmann then read a response from Betty Chew, Director of Community Development, to questions made by Kenneth Currier and Rodger Weems at the December 5, 1995 meeting. XIV.
