ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT PORTION OF ALLEY RUNNING FROM WEST VANDERBILT
STREET ON THE SOUTH BETWEEN LOT 8 AND LOTS 9-A AND 9-B AND BETWEEN LOT 8
ON THE SOUTH AND LOT 5-A AND LOT 4 ON THE NORTH OF SLOAN SECOND ADDITION
TO THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE CONTAINING 39585*20 SQUARE FEET OF LAND TO
HAVE BEEN ABANDONED AS AN ALLEY, ORDERING THE SAME VACATED AND CLOSED,
FINDING THE VALUE OF SAID LAND AND AUTHORIZING THE CONVEYANCE OF SAME TO
DA19 Y OUN G, UPON PAYMENT OF THE AMOUNT FOUND TO BE THE VALUE OF THIS
LAND.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE:
Section One
That portion of alley running from West Vanderbilt Street on the
south between Lot 8 and Lots 9-A and 9-B and between Lot 8 on the south
and Lot 5-A and Lot 4 on the north of Sloan Second Addition to the City
of Stephenville and described as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron pin set in the SE corner of Lot 8, Block 1,
Sloan Addition, Erath County, Texas;
THENCE N 300 W, 214 feet to an iron pin set in the NE corner of Lot
8, Block 1, Sloan Second Addition, Erath County, Texas;
THENCE S 600 W, 81.83 feet to the NW corner of Lot 8, Block 1, Sloan
Second .Addition, Erath County, Texas;
THENCE N 300 W, 10 feet to the center of a 20 foot alley way;
THENCE S 600 W, 7.66 feet along said centerline to a point for a
corner;
THENCE N 300 W, 10 feet to the SW corner of Lot 5-A, Block 1, Sloan
Second Addition, Erath County, Texas;
THENCE N 600 E, 97.49 feet to an iron pin set in the NW corner of
Lot 9-B, Block 1, Sloan Second Addition, Erath County, Texas;
THENCE S 300 E, 234 feet to an iron pin set in the SW corner of Lot
9-A, Block 1, Sloan Second Addition, Erath County, Texas, and being
the north side of a 50 foot right of way for West Vanderbilt Street;
THENCE S 600 W, 8 feet to the place of beginning containing 3,585.20
square feet;
is hereby declared to have been abandoned for alley purposes and is
hereby declared vacated and closed for alley purposes.
Section Two
That portion of alley hereinabove described has been appraised and
is hereby found by the City Council of Stephenville, Texas, to be of a
value of $358.52. Said amount having been offered by DAN YOUNG for said
alley, it is hereby ordered and directed that Larry Hammett, Mayor of the
City of Stephenville, execute a special warranty deed to the said Dan
Young , upon the payment by him to the City of Stephenville of said sum
of $358.52, the said Dan Young owning Lot4,5A,8,9A,9B, adjacent to said
alley.
