AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT PORTION OF LILLIAN STREET FROM
ITS INTERSECTION WITH WASHINGTON STREET TO ITS INTERSECTION
WITH VANDERBILT STREET TO BE A SCHOOL -ZONE AND THAT SECTION
OF VANDERBILT STREET -_FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH McILHANEY
STREET TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH ROME STREET TO BE A SCHOOL
ZONE, PROVIDING FOR ERECTION OF SIGNS BY TARLETON STATE
UNIVERSITY SHOWING SUCH DESIGNATION; AND MAKING IT AN OFFENSE
TO OPERATE A MOTOR VEHICLE IN THESE SECTIONS AT A GREATER
SPEED THAN 20 MILES PER HOUR AND PROVIDING PENALTY FOR
VIOLATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
STEPHENVILLE:
Section One
That section of Lillian Street from its intersection
with Washington Street to its intersection with Vanderbilt
Street is hereby declared to be a school zone and is hereby
so designated. Appropriate signs showing this designation
shall be furnished by Tarleton State University and erected
in this school zone.
Section Two
That section of Vanderbilt Street from its intersection
with Mcllhaney Street to its intersection with Rome Street is
hereby declared to be a school zone and is hereby so
designated. Appropriate signs showing this designation shall
be furnished by Tarleton State University and erected in this
school zone.
It shall be

any motor vehicle on that portion of Vanderbilt Street from
its intersection with Mcllhaney Street to its intersection
with Rome Street at a greater rate of speed than 20 miles per
hour. .

Any person violating the provisions of Section 3 or
Section 4 of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not
exceeding $200.00.
Section Six
This ordinance shall go into effect immediately from and
after its passage and publication as provided by law.
