HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991-O-06 - Municipal Solid Waste Management RegulationsORDINANCE NO, 1991-06 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION THREE OF MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT REGULATIONS, ORDINANCE NO. 1990-06, AS PUBLISHED BY THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, AND THE UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY AND ALL OTHER APPLICABLE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE FEDERAL, STATE, COUNTY AND THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS, BY ADDING THERETO A PROVISION WAIVING CHARGES FOR COMPOST MATERIAL. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS: SECTION ONE Landfill Rates. The schedule of fees for services and disposal of solid waste at the City of Stephenville Landfill are a follows: A. Minimum Charge $10.00 This includes cars, pick-ups, vans, and suburbans. Pick-ups with loads up to bed level will be included in the minimum charge fee; however, pick-ups with loads over the bed will be charged by the cubic yard. All other vehicles such as trucks, trailer, roll offs, and compactors, will be charged by total capacity on a per cubic yard basis. B. Cubic Yard Charge for solid waste disposal will be a minimum of $4.25 per cubic yard. The City shall retain the right to negotiate tipping fee rates with all /'\ commercial haulers. � 1 C . Special Waste Fees - Solid Waste which requires special handling shall be as follows: 1. Bio-Medical Waste - $35.00 per cubic yard (1 cubic yard minimum) 2. Asbestos - $35.00 per cubic yard (2 cubic yard minimum) 3. Bulky Items (such as trees and shrub trimmings exceeding 4' in length and/or 4" in diameter, wire, wooden pallets, mattresses, and building materials) - $6.75 per cubic yard. D . No tarp or Cover Charge $5.00 - This charge is for all vehicles transporting solid waste to the Landfill without a cover, tarp, or other means of securing the load in a manner to prevent items from falling or blowing from the vehicles. E. All charges for compost material shall be waived. Compost material shall be defined as yard waste, including, but not limited to grass clippings, leaves, brush and tree limbs not exceeding 4" in diameter. SECTION TWO This ordinance shall go into effect immediately from and after its passage and publication as provided by law. PASSED AND APPROVED this day of OV A 1991.
