AN ORDINANCE MAKING A PART OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE LAND
ADJACENT THERE TO AND BEING 0.994 ACRE TRACT OF LAND OUT OF THE
HENRY PEARSON SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO. 6131 IN ERATH COUNTY, TEXAS,
WHICH IS DESCRIBED BELOW AND WHICH JOINS THE PRESENT CITY LIMITS OF
THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE AND WHICH ORDINANCE FULLY DESCRIBES SAID
LAND:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS:
That certain land adjacent to the City of Stephenville and
adjoining same and specifically described as follows:
All that certain 0.994 acres of land, more or less, out of
the Henry Pearson Survey, A-613, Erath County, Texas, and
being same land called 1 acre in Deed to J.B. Morrow dated
August 12, 1936, and recorded in Volume 247, page 240, Deed
Records of Erath County, Texas, and the 0.994 acres being
described as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron rod set in South right of way of U.S.
Highway No. 377, from which point the Northwest corner of
Quail Run Subdivision, at Northwest corner of Bosque Road,
according to Plat recorded in Volume 2, page 50, Plat
Records, Erath County, Texas, bears N. 63-46-12 E. 204.85
feet and N. 65-50-16 E. 204.85 feet, for the Northeast
corner of this tract;
THENCE S. 23-34-23 E. 213.66 feet to an iron rod set for
the Southeast corner of said 1 acre tract and the Southeast
corner of this tract;
THENCE S. 63-05-51 W. 205.19 feet to an iron rod at the
Southwest corner of said 1 acre, for the Southwest corner
of this tract;
THENCE N. 23-23-03 W. with West line of the 1 acre tract,
208.71 feet to an iron rod at highway right of way, for the
Northwest corner of this tract;
THENCE with highway right of way, along a curve to the
right, having a radius of 5679.58 feet and central angle of
02 deg. 04 min., an arc distance of 204.86 feet ( long chord
bears N. 61-42-12 E. 204.85 feet), to the place of
beginning.
is hereby received into the City Limits of the City of Stephenville
and made a part of the City of Stephenville and the City Limits of
the City of Stephenville are hereby extended in accordance with the
lines and the description of the parcel of land hereinabove
described.
The above described land is hereby annexed and made a part of
the City of Stephenville by virtue of petition presented to the
City Council of the City of Stephenville which petition was signed
by Carroll E. Draper, who is the owner of the property, and duly
sworn to by him; and there being no inhabitants or qualified voters
presently residing within the boundaries of said 0.994 acre tract
of land; and all action having been taken by the City Council of
the City of Stephenville as required by the statutes of the State
of Texas and by the charter of the City of Stephenville and a
hearing having been held as required by said statutes and by the
charter.
The City Council, having a quorum present at this meeting of
March 5, 1991, motion was duly made and duly seconded that this
ordinance pass, and upon vote, said motion carried unanimously.
This ordinance shall go into effect immediately and the above
described land is hereby declared to be annexed and the same is
declared to be a part of the City of Stephenville.
