The amount of the deposit shall be estimated by the utility billing clerks or his or her authorized representative. Where billing figures for a comparable establishment are not available to establish the deposit for a commercial connection,the utility billing clerks shall estimate a two- month billing based upon information received from the applicant. The utility office shall review the estimate and within the first three months make the appropriate adjustment in the deposit amount. (b) Commercial deposits shall be made in cash. The Director of Finance or his or her authorized representative may authorize an alternative method of deposit for commercial accounts on a case by case basis. (c)When and if it is found that the deposit required and is collected in accordance with the above schedule is not sufficient to protect the City from losses that may occur over a period of two and a half(2.5) months,the Director of Finance may,at his or her discretion, require an additional cash deposit, or may require an additional deposit if for any reason the amount of the deposit becomes less than the originally required under the schedules hereinabove set forth.
