A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE,TEXAS,AUTHORIZING THE PARTNERING WITH THE RIVER
TRAIL CONSERVATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF BOSQUE RIVER AND CITY
PARKS AND DEVELOPING A NATURE, HIKE AND BIKE TRAIL; INCORPORATION RECITALS; AND SETTING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, improving the quality of life is a high priority for the betterment of the residents of the
City of Stephenville; and
WHEREAS, the Bosque River traverses the City of Stephenville, and the rich historical and cultural
heritage of the people and the City of Stephenville and Bosque River are intertwined; and
WHEREAS, the River Trail Conservation Assistance (RTCA), the community assistance arm of the
National Park Service program,will provide technical assistance to facilitate trail design and assist the City
of Stephenville in acquiring public and private funds to improve and upgrade Bosque River and city parks;
and
WHEREAS, RTCA will also assist the City with technical assistance in acquiring public and private
funds for developing a nature, pedestrian and bike trail.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Stephenville as follows:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Stephenville fully endorses partnering with RTCA for the
betterment and enrichment of the City's quality of life through the improvement of Bosque
River and city parks and developing of a nature, hike and bike trail.
Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Stephenville this the 23rd day of
February, 2021.
