Special City Council Meeting
Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at 5:30 PM
The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, convened on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at 5:30 PM, in the
Council Chambers at City Hall, 298 West Washington Street, for the purpose of a Special City Council
Meeting, with the meeting being open to the public and notice of said meeting, giving the date, time, place
and subject thereof, having been posted as prescribed by Chapter 551, Government Code, Vernon's Texas
Codes Annotated, with the following members present, to wit:
COUNCIL PRESENT: Doug Svien
Mark McClinton
Justin Haschke
Nick Robinson
Brady Pendleton
Ricky Thurman
Alan Nix
Gerald Cook
Brandon Huckabee —via teleconference
COUNCIL ABSENT:
OTHERS ATTENDING: Allen L. Barnes, City Manager
Staci L. King, City Secretary
Randy Thomas, City Attorney
I. Call to Order
Mayor Svien called the meeting to order at 5:31 p.m.
II. Consider Approval of a Resolution Authorizing Participation in the Texas Main Street Program
and Designating the City Manager to Coordinate Program Activities
Council member Cook pointed out a typo in Section 3 of the resolution. That section will be
modified to read as follows:
"SECTION 3.
That the City Manager or his designee will be designated to supervise the Main Street manager
activities. "
MOTION by Gerald Cook, second by Mark McClinton, to approve Resolution No. 2020-R-17
authorizing the city's participation in the Texas Main Street Program.
MOTION CARRIED by unanimous vote.
III. Consider Approval of Expansion of the City's Personal Services Business Loan/Grant Program to
Include Locally -Owned Downtown Businesses
MOTION by Justin Haschke, second by Gerald Cook, to approve expansion of the city's Personal
Services Business Loan/Grant Program to include locally -owned retail businesses.
MOTION CARRIED by unanimous vote.
IV. Adjourn
The meeting was adjourned at 5:41 p.m.
