Special City Council Meeting
*AS Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 5:30 PM
The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, convened on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at 5:30 PM, in the
Council Chambers at City Hall, 298 West Washington Street, for the purpose of a Special City Council
Meeting, with notice of said meeting, giving the date, time, place and subject thereof, having been posted as
prescribed by Chapter 551, Government Code, Vernon's Texas Codes Annotated, with the following
members present, to wit:
COUNCIL PRESENT: Doug Svien
Mark McClinton
Justin Haschke
Nick Robinson
Brady Pendleton
Ricky Thurman
Alan Nix
Gerald Cook
Brandon Huckabee
COUNCIL ABSENT:
OTHERS ATTENDING: Allen L. Barnes, City Manager
Staci L. King, City Secretary
Randy Thomas, City Attorney
I. Call to Order
Mayor Svien called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
II. EXECUTIVE SESSION
1. In compliance with the provisions of the Texas Open Meetings Law, Subchapter D,
Government Code, Vernon's Texas Codes, Annotated, in accordance with Section
551.071 Consultation with Attorney - Pending Litigation
Mayor Svien called the meeting into executive session at 5:30 p.m.
Mayor Svien called the meeting into regular session at 6:20 p.m.
2. Action taken on Items Discussed in Executive Session, if Necessary
MOTION by Mark McClinton, second by Brady Pendleton, to approve the settlement as
presented by Jerry Lee, Erath County Appraisal District.
MOTION CARRIED by unanimous vote.
III. Public Safety Building
1. Consider Approval of an Agreement with Apex Company, LLC for the Creation of
Environmental Remediation Protocols
MOTION by Brady Pendleton, second by Ricky Thurman, to approve an agreement with
Apex Company, LLC.
MOTION CARRIED by unanimous vote.
Consider Approval of Agreement with Cavalry for the creation of a Scope of Work for
Building Restoration
MOTION by Ricky Thurman, second by Brandon Huckabee, to approve an agreement with
Cavalry as presented, and including mold remediation.
MOTION CARRIED by unanimous vote.
IV. Adjourn
The meeting was adjourned at 6:34 p.m.
