A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE
SUBMISSION OF A CORONAVIRUS RELIEF FUND GRANT APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT; AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACT AS THE CITY'S OFFICAL
REPRESENTATIVE IN ALL MATTERS PERTAINING TO THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE CORONAVIRUS
RELIEF FUND.
WHEREAS,The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security(CARES)Act made available$11.24
billion to the State of Texas through the Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) for aid with direct coronavirus
related expenses; and
WHEREAS, The State of Texas has made available $1.85 billion of CRF funding available to cities
and counties less than 500,000 population to go towards reimbursement of direct expenses incurred due
to COVID-19; and
WHEREAS, the City of Stephenville has experienced a substantial health and economic impact
from COVID-19 and has incurred substantial costs for public health and safety in response to the COVID-
19 pandemic; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and in the best interests of the City of Stephenville to apply for funding
under the Coronavirus Relief Program.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE,TEXAS:
1. That a Coronavirus Relief Fund grant application is hereby authorized to be filed on behalf of the
City with the Texas Department of Emergency Management.
2. That the application be for the maximum amount allowed under applicable program rules and
formulas to reimburse the City for incurred costs related to COVID-19 since March 1, 2020.
3. That the City Council directs and designates the Mayor as the City's Authorized Representative to
act in all matters in connection with this application and the City's participation in the Coronavirus
Relief Fund program.
4. That all funds will be used in accordance with all applicable federal,state, local and programmatic
requirements.
