AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE,TEXAS,AMENDING CHAPTER 37
MUNICIPAL COURT IN THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE CODE OF ORDINANCES
WHEREAS, Article 45.203(C) of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure authorizes the City Council
to prescribe rules as may be proper to enforce the collection of fines imposed by a municipal court; and
WHEREAS,the City Council wishes to impose a penalty for failure to appear before the municipal
court.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE,
TEXAS:
Chapter 37 Municipal Court of the City of Stephenville Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by the
addition of the following:
Sec. 37.13—Failure to Appear; Fee for Warrant of Arrest
If any person fails to appear before the court, either in compliance with a personal bond or as
directed by a notice of the municipal court clerk's officer, a warrant for his arrest shall be issued
for Failure to Appear/ Violation of Promise to Appear and a fine of$25.00 shall be charged for
the execution or processing by a peace officer of such warrant. The fee shall be assessed on
conviction, regardless of whether the defendant was arrested at the same time for another
offense, and shall be assessed for each arrest of a defendant arising out of the offense for which

the defendant has been convicted.
This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
