A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE,TEXAS,ADOPTING THE PURCHASING
CARD POLICY FOR THE CITY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Stephenville administers a purchasing card policy
providing for the use of credit cards for expending city funds for goods and services; and
WHEREAS, periodic review and amendment of such policies is a practice that ensures the city
maintains a high level of integrity and transparency in the expenditure of funds; and
WHEREAS,the City Council wishes to adopt a purchasing card policy for the City.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITYOF STEPHENVILLE,TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the Purchasing Card Policy as presented to the City Council on January 7,2020,is hereby adopted as the
policy for the use of city-issued purchasing cards, replacing, in its entirety, all other such manuals and
policies heretofore adopted by the City.
SECTION 2.
That it is hereby declared to be the intention of the City Council of the City of Stephenville that the phrases,
clauses,sentences,paragraphs,and sections of this Policy are severable,and if any phrase,clause,sentence,
paragraph or section of this Policy should be declared unconstitutional by the valid judgment or decree of
any court of competent jurisdiction, such unconstitutionality shall not affect any of the remaining phrases,
clauses,sentences,paragraphs or sections of the Policy,since the same would have been enacted by the City
Council without incorporation in this ordinance ofany such unconstitutional phrases, clause, sentence,
paragraph or section.
SECTION 3.
It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this policy was adopted was open to
the public and that public notice of the time, place and purpose of said meeting was given as required by
the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code.
SECTION 4.
This resolution shall be effective upon passage.
